Final Sound

Final Sound

My main job with our movie opening was making the sounds for the movie. personally, the sound is the most important part when creating a piece, I feel as if the sound and the music is the glue that solidifies the codes and conventions together, therefore meaning that sound meant a lot to me and needed to be perfect to create the best piece.

I used the software final cut pro, to edit all the sounds in the movie opening. As the school cameras didn't pick up a lot of the footstep noises etc. I had to find other audios that fit perfectly in our piece. This task was very time consuming and took a lot of effort.

Luckily, we had a microphone that we used while filming to pick up the actor's voices whilst they were acting so voiceovers weren't necessary.

For the footsteps and the gunshot, I used the final cut pro sound effect feature which was extremely helpful in finding realistic sounds. Here are the sound effects on the final cut pro.

My next task was to find music that fit perfectly with our opening sequence, I spent time looking at different songs and came to the conclusion that I wanted to have a more upbeat song as it fits
our piece a lot better.

This is the song we decided to use, it is an upbeat song although still creating tension as it is very eerie and almost 'too good to be true' after a murder has just occurred.
