Critical Reflection

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My product uses typical conventions of a thriller. My product uses conventions such as fast-paced clips, moments of tension and fear. These conventions helped me create a successful piece and helped me and the audience link my piece to a thriller. My piece represented social groups such as the 15+ age group as it was rated an age 15 using the BBFC guidelines. This, therefore, meant that we had an advantage as we stuck to the guidelines, making our piece as interesting and as information-packed as possible, whilst following guidelines. My piece also represented the effects of crime, and the effect crime has on an individual. My piece also represents mystery as it was unknown who the murderer was throughout the piece, this, therefore, brought shock to the audience when they found out the killer, therefore having an element of surprise in the piece.
